Great Plains Pointer Rescue runs entirely on volunteers, and fostering is our most critical need. If you want to help dogs directly, this is where to start.
Why foster?
Foster homes give dogs a real home environment, which helps us understand each dog’s personality and needs before adoption. Fosters provide day-to-day care, socialization, and behavioral insight, while we cover veterinary expenses and provide guidance and support.
What it takes
You do not need to be a professional trainer or have a perfect home. The qualities that matter most are being responsive, having realistic expectations about a sporting dog’s energy, and being willing to work with our team.

- Administrative tasks such as data entry
- Photography, social media, and marketing
